Island of Vis · Croatia

Sightseeing

The natural wonders of Vis and Biševo — the Blue Cave, the Green Cave and the legendary Stiniva Bay.

Blue Cave, Island of Vis

Blue Cave

Hidden on the islet of Biševo near Komiža, the Blue Cave is one of the Adriatic's true natural wonders. On a calm sunny morning, sunlight enters through an underwater opening and floods the chamber with an unreal electric-blue glow. The cave is reached only by boat, and a short trip there is an easy half-day excursion from Vis.

Green Cave, Island of Vis

Green Cave

A quieter sister to the Blue Cave, the Green Cave takes its name from the soft green light that filters through an opening in its ceiling. You can swim and dive inside, and small boats can enter directly — a memorable stop for anyone exploring the waters around Vis.

Stiniva Bay, Island of Vis

Stiniva Bay

Tucked away on the southern coast of the island, Stiniva is a remote pebble bay framed by two near-touching cliffs. Repeatedly voted one of Europe's most beautiful beaches, it rewards visitors with a rare mix of mystic stillness and quiet — best reached by boat or a scenic walk down from above.
